Five minute Friday

We had a couple of nice days home with the little girls before Kenny had to go back to work on Wednesday. The time went way too fast. The next two days went just as fast with lots of running around and grandparents here. This weekend we have three basketball games, Lyla's newborn photos and a birthday party. We have another big week ahead and we are looking forward to basketball wrapping up next Saturday, we desperately need some down time! Baseball will have to wait, fall ball it is :/

Lyla Meadow

Last Friday February 12 at 1220 pm our fourth daughter and the grand finale Lyla Meadow was born. It was a quick and beautiful morning. Two hours later I had a tubal ligation and the next evening we went home. She was 8lbs 5 oz 19". She is a nursing champ, great sleeper, and loves to snuggle. When we got home Saturday night part of our kitchen was flooded. Avila woke up at 430 that morning puking. Sunday afternoon the next three got the bug, Kenny followed up with it Monday and I got it Tuesday. An insane about of laundry, cleaning, Lysol, bleach, carpet cleaner, some tears from mama and here we are at Friday with our beautiful blessing sleeping soundly in the swing. I could go into detail about all the other craziness that has happened this week, but the best parts are that our friends have loved us well with food, babysitting, dropping off get well remedies, covering us in prayers, and snuggling our sweet girl. The big kids have loved having Lyla here and are anxious to really help and hold her but we have had to be extra cautious to keep her well. Avila is warming up to her and gentle when she has been comfortable enough to "pet" her. In the immediate needs of the week it's been easy to get lost in all that and I wanted to take a break today really let it settle in what a gift this week has been. Our community has surrounded us and our tribe inside these four walls has been provided for, our new baby is healthy, the sun is shinning, my husband has been dad and mom with grace and patience, our family is complete, like 200% no going back, and the best days are yet to come.

Avila turned two on the 7th. We celebrated with a Texas size donut, dinner out, frozen yogurt of her very own choosing, and  her first car. Girl loves her cozy coupe! It was a great day!

Five minute Friday

Great weekend, fast week, ready for another weekend of basketball and a birthday party with the most special celebration of the year so far ahead on Sunday as Avila turns two! This coming week will also be the very last few days I will carry a baby on my belly. I have a scheduled induction for Friday the 12th if Lyla continues to stay cozy where she is. So it's more than likely I won't have a post next week but the following I will catch up on Avila's birthday and Lyla's arrival. In other kid news, Blake is learning to write her name and it's awesome watching her progress and mature. Elle finished her reading enrichment lunch bunch group with the librarian yesterday, it was her first chapter book! Kenny's coaching both kids basketball teams and has shared how much Rylan hustles and is really getting a grasp of the game, exciting his first year of basketball is going so well. Between work and basketball, the mr and I feel like ships passing in the night, we may have over committed, when he coached years ago life was certainly different. We are trying to make the best of the busy schedule all the while preparing for our fifth child. I don't see life slowing down for many years, which is a privilege we are grateful for, but we do miss the simplicity sometimes of just spending time together being husband and wife and a family without something written on the calendar everyday. It's a season, we know, we'll adapt- we always do.
